Born in the year 1994 in Santa Cruz, Bolivia. Andrea Terceros studied Architecture and Urban Planning at the University of Stuttgart in Germany. She later did an exchange program at the Politecnico di Milano in Italy and lived in Copenhagen working for the architecture companies BIG and Effekt.
Currently she is based in Tokyo where she works as an architect at Kengo Kuma & Associates while also pursuing her career as an artist.
Terceros held her first solo exhibition in the year 2019 in Bolivia, and since then she has had multiple art exhibitions in Bolivia and Japan.
Some of the places she has exhibited include: “Shakespeare Gallery” in Tokyo, “Manzana 1” (one of Bolivia’s most visited art galleries), CASA COR Bolivia (CASA COR is the biggest Architecture and Design showcase in the Americas), KIOSKO Galeria in Santa Cruz – Bolivia, among others.
On the year 2011, she won the Biennale Contest of Arts for the youth in Santa Cruz, Bolivia.
Andrea’s paintings have been deeply influenced by her Bolivian roots, and by the time she has spent living in Europe and Japan. Her work depicts everyday objects and scenes of modern life, raising questions about identity, culture, and beauty found in the small, impermanent things.
Through the use of a strong color palette, the paintings reflect the vibrant colors of Santa Cruz that surrounded her while growing up.
